Japanese designer Shinji Nukumi was announced as the winner and was awarded €10,000 for his brilliant artwork entitled ‘INFINITI Passion’.

If you are a professional designer, a design enthusiast or student at art school, you need to enter! Participants are asked to design an experience that can be generated through a digital artwork, interior installation piece, or unique performance. These will be displayed in the new showrooms that is opening throughout Europe and during other premium events of the brand. That’s why they are inviting artists to design the ultimate digital experience of what the curve brings to you. This can be in the form of:
1. digital artwork in the form of images and/or videos: you can (and are encouraged) to include the car or elements of the car as part of the artwork
2. physical installation in the form of a sculpture, 3D mapping, or other exciting media works: installation should take up no more space than an Infiniti car - installation must work in ambient light. You can (and are encouraged) to include the car or elements of the car as part of the installation. Any form of installation that requires bespoke build must be provided by the artist.
3. INFINITI experiential cinema: unique curved cinema experience where you can create a 180° or 360° video installation. Sound and interactivity are optional but will enhance the experience
4. Interactive art piecethat works with Microsoft Kinect: this can be a complete work or conceptual prototype and technology available will be Microsoft surface and Kinect sensors.
5. Live performances- including dance, light, interactive music, body art, or another unique experience
Your works will be installed and managed by a third party, and thus should be both easily assembled and cost effective. Projects that are too expensive or difficult to produce will not be realized and thus cannot advance to the second stage of the competition, even if they are originally selected by the jury as winning designs.
· The winning formula must be clearly linked to INFINITI’s DNA and should express the theme of the competition: CURVED VISIONS.
· Conceptually or physically, INFINITI cars should be in some way the heroes of the creation and are encouraged to include the car or elements of the car as part of the artwork
· Of course, the most impactful projects will achieve a mix of innovation and interactivity, generating an emotional response in those who experience the work.
· Projects may take any form, as long as they address in some way the idea of CURVED VISIONS
·
INFINITI has provided a library of images and videos that participants can use either for inspiration for their project or to include within their entry (see below in ‘For Your Article’)

There is also a second prize draw just for voting! Vote for an entry and be in to win flights for two to New Zealand.
Out of the two, I think I would have to go with “Natural Goodness”. The idea of being somewhere so remote is appealing. Waking up in the morning and hiking followed by some extreme sports later on, would be so cool.
Here’s a teaser video:
With this prize, you would be adventuring around the South Island, hiking through national parks, climbing glaciers, rafting rivers, kayaking with dolphins, getting up close to whales, then seeing birds and seals along the stunning coastlines. When it’s time to put your feet up, we’ll have hot springs nestled in the mountains waiting for you.

“What would you trade for the story of a lifetime?”
Over the next 12 months that is what Tourism New Zealand are asking people. They believe “Stories Beats Stuff!”
What would you give up? Your subscription to Travel Spy, your new plasma TV or your new Porsche?
This is the time to trade your stuff for an unbelievable adventure to the other side of the world. All you have to do is make a video or send a pic of what you’re trading, for a chance to win one of six trips of a lifetime.
Every couple of months Tourism New Zealand will be launching amazing uniquely New Zealand experiences. To start with two amazing prizes are up for grabs during December and January while it’s summer in NZ: Summer Rhythm, and Beaches & Boats. Win one of these and you’ll be winging your way to New Zealand with your best mate.
Experience One: ‘Summer Rhythm’ A two-week long road-trip along the East Coast of New Zealand ending in Gisborne for Rhythm & Vines – 3 day music festival set in a vineyard that has featured some of the best artists in the world. The line-up this year is no exception including Calvin Harris, Pendulum, Example, Cut Copy and Grandmaster Flash. Gisborne is the first place in the world to see the sun rise every day. This year will be the first on the planet to welcome in 2012 in what The Guardian has called one of the best New Year celebrations in the world.

Experience Two: ‘Beaches and Boats’ /Set at the very top of New Zealand’s North Island, the Bay of Islands is New Zealand’s hottest summer destination. With 144 islands, it’s little surprise that beaches and boats are central to this amazing location. Spend two weeks exploring all that’s on offer. Swim with dolphins, dive the Poor Knights Islands (rated by Jacques Cousteau as one of the top ten dive sites in the world), slide down giant sand dunes, hit white sand beaches for some sunbathing, laze on a launch as you cruise though crystal clear waters and party till dawn. This is the place to spend your January.

Travel Spy has been to New Zealand and can thoroughly recommend the experience. Sure it takes around 24 hours to get there and your jetlag will last days…but it’s worth it! Christchurch reminded us of the Lake District, Queenstown is for the extreme sports fans and Auckland has a Canadian feel.
The competition closes on 7th December and is open to all people 18+ all over the world. Get your thinking cap on and enter the competition here
